Friday, November 3, 2023 - The German city of Stuttgart witnessed a masterclass in Timbersport as Australia won an unprecedented fourth consecutive STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Team Championship - and eighth World Championship title overall - in front of an incredible crowd of 6,500 at a sold-out Porsche Arena. This year's biggest Timbersport event was also attended by the Biona team, who came especially to support Czech national team member Matyáš Klíma, who uses Biona products (such as Biosynt 40 V, Bipol 100, Bio 2T TCW3 and Optima Garden Profesional) in his racing.

Australia was joined on the podium by the USA and Canada, and the whole event ended in a fantastic success for the Czech Republic in the team competition. In a new European record of 54.31, the Czech team of Ivan Bambuškar, Matyáš Klíma, Martin Kalina and Zdeněk Mařas finished fifth, with only the overseas competitors being better. The Czech team did absolutely great and did not find any opponents among the European teams.

Australia and the USA repeated the last year's final. The "Chopperoos" once again confirmed their dominance and won their 8th world championship title. Canada, meanwhile, avenged their 2022 defeat to New Zealand by beating the “Kiwis” to win the bronze medal.

A total of 19 teams participated in the entire championship. In the Team World Championships, teams competed in four of the six core disciplines of Stock Saw, Single Buck, Underhand Chop and Standing Block Chop. The tournament was held in an elimination format.

After the race Matyáš shared his first feelings with us. The disappointment of the quarterfinal defeat was quickly replaced by the joy of the overall 5th place, which is a historic achievement for the Czech national team. Matyáš also mentioned that the whole World Championships was a great experience for him and he is already looking forward to next season where he wants to be better and stronger again.
